Clinical Decision Support solutions

Unlock Philips IntelliVue patient monitoring capabilities that give critical information about patients at a glance

Advanced data visualization and insight tools that give clinicians clear, contextually rich physiologic data at the bedside and central station

Clinical decision support tools have never been more important to overburdened acute care teams. Clinicians may only have time to briefly scan a monitor so information needs to be presented as simply as possible. Philips clinical decision support tools are designed to reduce cognitive load, recognize patient deterioration and give speedy feedback on whether therapeutic interventions are working.

See deviations in vitals at a glance with Horizon Trends

The Horizon Trends tool gives clear feedback on the patients’ current status and how they are trending for each measured parameter. Instead of using sound to alert the user to a deterioration in the patient’s condition, deviation bars and trend arrows display patient status in relation to a target goal value.

  • Choose monitoring parameters for each patient and tailor screen displays.
  • See changes in vital signs with a graphical display of how a patient’s measurements relate to baseline or target goal values, and how measurements are trending.
  • Identify less severe, non-actionable changes to help with alarm fatigue.
  • Use the deviation bar and trend arrows to identify when a patient is approaching the target goal and intervene before an alarm.

Quickly interpret ST values and evaluate interventions with ST Map

ST Map collects ST values and trends from all measured chest and limb leads. It provides the patient’s ST values in a multi-axis diagram that allows clinicians to quickly see ST changes and their location in the heart.

  • Instead of analyzing multiple small numerical values, ST map displays a shaded visual of ST segment changes.
  • Continuously and non-invasively monitor ischemic episodes1
  • Identify subtle changes in both ST elevation and depression to detect ischemic episodes in one glance1
  • Set a reference baseline to easily see whether an intervention is having the desired effect.
  • Use the ST Map trend views to see intervals ranging from 12 seconds to 30 minutes. This unique view helps clinicians spot subtle changes in values.
  • Get extra detail for acute care patients by comparing ST values with ST elevation limits using the STEMI Limit Map/STE Map feature.

Advanced Event Surveillance combines multiple parameters into one notification to support a low false-positive alarm rate2

Advanced Event Surveillance offers patient-specific notifications based on an analysis of the vitals – and thresholds – clinicians choose. Nurses are notified only when worrisome patterns are detected.

  • Choose groupings of up to four clinical parameters to be captured simultaneously based on a patient’s specific condition.
  • Quickly see a contextualized display of worrisome patterns based on customized data points.
  • Store “events” with surrounding data to be documented.
  • Create your own “smart alarms” by setting deviation thresholds and time periods.
  • Get notified only when patterns of concern arise.

Histograms give a complete view of a patient’s response over time

Histograms allows clinicians to assess how patients are responding to therapy.

  • See how long a patient was within or outside a certain range of values with a clinically intuitive view.
  • Use Histograms on any trended measurement parameter.
  • See whether an intervention is working, such as medication administration or titration.
  • Learn where patient parameters have been.
  • Use the data to help with optimizing oxygen and ventilator settings, assessing responses to medication and informing discharge planning.
  • Record Histograms as reports for comprehensive documentation and evidence-based care.
